Q: What Canadian food has some of the highest standards of any food in the world?
A: The answer is milk.
Growth hormones for dairy cows? Not in Canada. Growth hormones are not approved for sale in this country and dairy farmers are not permitted to use them.
Antibiotic residues? If a sick cow needs to be treated with antibiotics, her milk is discarded until it is clear of residues. Plus, all Canadian milk is tested for antibiotic residues at the processing plant before it’s made into milk products.
